Big congrats to Katelyn on her adoption October 18, 2020!
Katelyn sleeps alone in her kennel, but is placed next to our resident dog so she's not lonely and doesn't whine. She sleeps through the night and keeps her kennel clean. During the day she is lucky to be home with everyone kids, plus adults, plus dog. She has lots of playmates. Katelyn lives with kids ages 5, 8 and 10 years old in her foster home. She has a fenced in yard, so she has time to run around, always supervised. She goes on lots of walks and gets lots of chances to go to the bathroom. When she is not playing with someone, she is happy to relax with a chew toy. By 8:00 pm she is pretty tired, and willingly goes to sleep in her kennel. She usually sleeps until 6:00 am without waking us up and keeps her kennel clean.
She is very social and greets us when we wake up with lots of kisses. Katelyn wants to play immediately with lots of energy. She is very gentle with human play; we have had no issues with the children, and we trust her completely around the kids. She's also been very friendly to strangers.
Katelyn has lots of energy in the morning, but after a little exercise she is happy to take a nap. She enjoys running at full speed in the backyard, but also enjoys a good leash walk. I can see her becoming a good running buddy. For a puppy, she does very good on the leash, alone or with the resident dog.
She loves other dogs of all sizes. Katelyn looks up to our resident dog and has learned a lot from her. No aggression towards other dogs on walks within the neighborhood. We have two cats who keep their distance from the puppy, but she seems uninterested. But our cats are very old and unexciting.
Katelyn is always in the crate when left alone. She might cry for a few minutes unless she is tired then she goes straight to sleep. We put the crate next to our resident dog, so she is not truly alone.
She is a very lovable puppy with some great behavioral traits. She would do well in a variety of homes!
