Congrats to miss Jessie and her adoption on August 29, 2020!
Jessie awakes from her crate when you are ready to get up, goes outside on leash for her morning walk, has breakfast, and settles in. She plays with her toys or chews a chewy or Kong treat toy (with peanut butter preferred!), then a noon walk and a small lunch. An afternoon fetch game and a nap rounds out her daytime hours.
She loves everyone. Jessie loves being around people and appears to be good with children. She will find a quiet spot under a table or watching at the door and hang out watching the world independently as well. She will snuggle on your lap (but not for too long) unless she is tired and will lay right beside you for a snooze.
Jessie is great on leash. She will stop and sniff along the way unless you are running with her, and she is happy to oblige that pace as well. Lots of exercise (walks, playing games outdoors) will be good for her.
Jessie shows a bit of aggressive 'playfulness' with dogs, swatting at and nipping to get them to play. We have been working on socializing her with dogs, but she will need more work. She has not been exposed to cats.
As long as you don't leave tissues or other items you don't want her to get to, she is good alone, especially for a puppy. We haven't left her alone very long--when we are out in the yard doing something we might leave her for 15-20 minutes and she is fine (though wants to come out with us). She is excellent in her crate, so we typically put her there if we have to run errands. She stays quiet and usually sleeps or plays with her toys.
Jessie will make a great pet for someone/a family who is active and will make her a loving part of their family. She will need someone with patience to work on the social aspects around other dogs and getting her to obey 'off' while the owner eats meals. Jessie is very treat driven, so I am confident that she will learn to be still when appropriate if someone is willing to work with her patiently on this skill. She responds extremely well to positive reinforcement ('Good Girl!!') when she does something well. She is a sweetheart.
