Java sleeps peacefully in his crate all night and patiently waits for us to get up in the morning around 6 am. We go outside for a quick potty, and then it's breakfast time. He gobbles his food down happily and is ready to play with our resident dog and some toys. We go on several 15-20 minute walks throughout the day, and he plays outside in our fenced yard, too. He naps in his crate or on a dog bed when he's tired. If we have to leave the house, he goes happily into his crate. He eats dinner, gets his last walk around 7 pm, and then a last potty break around 9:30/10 pm and he's good to sleep all night.

Java is very friendly around people and so far has been excited to meet everyone. He isn't mouthy at all which is unusual for a puppy, and usually just wags his tail while you pet him or flops over on his back for some belly rubs.

He is a medium energy pup. Java needs a couple walks and good play sessions to feel good. If we're home all day and he's out roaming around, he will take quick snoozes here and there but he's usually busy with something - following us, looking out windows, playing with toys. If we have to put him in his crate, however, he'll go right to sleep. Still, he would benefit from a fenced yard because he loves running around in ours. He also loves having a dog around who will really play with him, and it's another great way for him to get his exercise. He's generally pretty chill throughout the day when he gets his walks and play time. He'll have moments of the puppy zoomies, but they are short lived and funny to watch. He is learning leash manners - he's pretty good for a young pup, but like many, will walk side to side, stop for lots of sniffs, get a little spooked by a new sight or sound. Our resident dog gives him lots of confidence on walks, so when he sees her continue to walk, he'll get his courage back and keep going. Overall, an easy puppy to walk given his age.

Java gets super excited to meet other dogs. He is usually the more submissive of the dogs which helps. He's had some great play sessions with his litter mates and neighborhood dogs. He adores our resident dog and frequently wants to play with her. When she lets him know that she doesn't want to play, he picks up on that quickly and goes to his own bed to chew his toys. I've been impressed how easily he reads her and that he doesn't keep bugging her to play. Java has not met any cats yet.

We haven't left him out in the house to roam free when we are alone. Java always goes into his crate (with little to no protesting whatsoever) and either chews on a toy or snoozes. He isn't upset at all being left alone when he is in his crate- it's definitely a safe, comfortable space for him. He is young enough that he won't be able to be left alone for too long during the day, but could easily stay there a few hours.

Java isn't a destructive puppy and very rarely shows interest in chewing non-toys. If he does start to get into trouble, he's quickly and easily redirected with a toy. He's been such an easy, joyful puppy to have in the house. He hasn't had a single accident - he absolutely knows that outside is where you go potty. Being young, we still take him out every 3-4 hours, but I've never worried about him sneaking off into a corner of the house to go to the bathroom. He is such a good, happy boy, and he'll make his forever home so happy.
