Updates

Jellyroll is a goofy, friendly boy that loves to love! He starts his day around 7 am when we wake up. He is taken outside right away to go to the bathroom and is eager to get back in to play with his foster sister and enjoy some breakfast. After breakfast Jellyroll gets to do his favorite thing: run around and play with toys! Almost any type of dog toy is a blast for Jellyroll, but squeaky and tug toys are the best! Once he's good and tired Jelly takes a nap in his crate for a few hours. In the afternoon he takes another bathroom trip outside in addition to a nice walk around the block. The rest of Jellyroll's day is spent playing, leisurely chewing on dog treats, and lounging on the couch. Around 5pm is dinnertime, another trip outside for an evening walk and bathroom break, and snuggling in his foster parent's lap until bed in crate at 9pm.

Jellyroll is friendly with all people inside and outside the home. He can be a little shy at first, but after a sniff or two he is ready to say hi and wants plenty of pets and attention! Sometimes he gets a little too excited and needs reminders not to jump, but he is learning quickly how to be polite.

Jellyroll has not had exposure to children in our foster home, however he can get a little rambunctious and clumsy when playing and may not be a good fit around young children.

Jellyroll would best be described as a medium energy dog- while he plays hard he balances it out with plenty of lounging and naps. He needs at least two good walks per day and enjoys his time outside, but he can also get plenty of exercise inside playing. He walks well on leash with limited pulling though in typical hound fashion he has usually got his nose to the ground!

Jellyroll is friendly with other dogs but can be a little timid at first and does best with slow introductions. It only took a few minutes for him to start playing with our resident puppy in the house and since has met a few other dogs well. He would prefer to play with other dogs but he also does well respecting the space of dogs that aren't interested in playing.

Jellyroll does well with cats. He typically just stays away from them though sometimes he tries to get them to play by barking and play bowing. In this case I usually distract him with a toy or remove the cat and he quickly loses interest.

When left alone Jellyroll is in his crate and is content to sleep or chew on a treat. Sometimes he will bark for a minute or two but usually he goes in without issue. So far he has not tried to chew non-toys or get into anything like the trash, however we are still working on potty training and therefor have not left him out to free roam.

Jellyroll is such a goofy, friendly, and happy dog that loves to be around his people (I really cannot stress enough how good this sweet boy is at cuddling)! With a little more basic training to work on his house manners he would make a great buddy for adventures and plenty of snuggles!
