Check out some videos of Jackson here and here!

Jackson is a gentle, compassionate, intuitive dog-shaped weighted blanket. He loves cuddling and naps, frequently trying to sleep with his whole body pressed against us. He loves meeting new friends in slow, measured introductions, but quickly warms up after a few treats and appreciates having his ribs scratched. His life goal seems to be putting in the least amount of effort; he falls off the couch while napping and cannot be troubled to wake up sometimes!

He loves all sorts of treats (milk bones, cheese puffs, freeze dried liver, peanut butter, and more!) and in exchange, will do whatever we ask after just a few repetitions, even if it takes some minutes to get momentum up in his big ol' bones. He came with no skills and learned so quickly to go potty outside and ask when he needed it, how to do sit, down and touch, and enthusiastically answers to his name. He's such a smart boy!!

He loves bath time and will even ask for one by putting himself right in the tub! He does best with a bathmat for traction, and will jump in and out on his own! He stood like a docile puppy for his vet care, and they did some very invasive poking and prodding. He does the cutest prancing feet for mealtime and loves to play with soft toys and rope toys either with you or by himself! He's also super content to spend time alone working on a kong, lick mat, or bully stick. He prefers several short walks throughout the day but can keep up on a longer hike too. He gets a little nervous if there are a lot of surprising noises out and about, but is building his tolerance, and does amazing with verbal and treat-based reassurances!

Jackson is working really hard at being crate trained. He is great during the day, especially if he's provided with a nice bone or other long-lasting treat to chew on while he settles in. He is also happy while sleeping during night, but does ask for trips outside with a few direct barks since he's picked up potty training but is still building his stamina. He's pretty quick to do his business and amicable going right back into his kennel. We've had several all-night sleeps already! He would likely rather sleep in his forever person's room or bed with them. He had some wire crate trauma before he arrived and now needs a hard sided kennel. We have been leaving him during the day when necessary and are confident he can be in there for about 4 to 6 hours at a time without distress as long as he gets a good walk before and after.

Jackson shows mild friendly interest in cats, prefers to sniff, or ignore them, and is confident in sharing space with them. He's also friendly towards other dogs, though is sensitive to loud or continuous barking. Because of his size and a little bit of 'bull in a China shop' lack of spatial awareness, he will do best in a home without young kids. He is an incredibly good, sweet, smart dog who is going to be an absolutely perfect and gentle companion for someone!
