Updates

Typically Jack wakes up at 6 AM and goes right outside for a potty break. He eats breakfast and then I take him for a long walk. He is then crated for the work day and is let out around 4 pm for another potty break and playtime in the yard. After dinner, he gets another long walk and then playtime with toys inside. He gets settled for bed around 9 pm and sleeps through the night.

Jack does well in the house with people. He is very affectionate and likes to be in the same room as the family. However, Jack is very shy. He has some anxiety around meeting men and strangers. Given slow introductions, he relaxes and gains trust. He has some anxiety with new situations, as well. He loves outings in the car (he's so good in the car and loves errands, visits to other homes, and driving kids to activities!) so we bring him lots of places to get him used to new experiences. He will benefit from owners who will work with him and show him that he is safe in the world.

Jack is great with kids. He currently lives with 4 kids ages 4-15. He's had a visitor as young as 1 and the only issue may be stealing baby toys that look like his dog toys!

Jack is a typical young puppy. He has a lot of energy and then crashes hard. He LOVES walks outside and does very well on a leash. He is reactive to squirrels and is learning not to pull when he sees one. Otherwise, he walks right by my side. He also likes toys and loves to tear apart stuffed animals.

Jack really enjoys other dogs. He lives with our resident dog and plays every night. Jack has already made friends with several dogs in the neighborhood! On walks, he likes to meet new dogs if the situation is appropriate.

Jack has had no exposure to cats.

Jack is crated during the day (weekday-up to about 8 hours) and when we are not home. At first, he did not like his crate, but he is getting used to it being a safe place with lots of treats. We provide him lots of durable toys and peanut butter filled Kongs to keep him busy. He free-roamed at his previous home so that may be an option in the future.

Jack is looking for a home who can work on confidence training, provide lots of exercise and would adore sharing the bed for nighttime snuggles! Jack will be a loyal dog and make a family so happy.
