Updates
Izzy wakes up and has a little time in the yard. She plays with toys while I get ready for work, and then heads (reluctantly) into her house with her breakfast when I leave for the day. She barks a bit in her crate, but then settles down for the day. After work, we play in the yard or go on a short-walk. And then she plays with her toys before taking a long snooze on the dog bed. She'll come get frequent pets and snuggles and follows me room to room.
Izzy has met 2 humans while in my house, me (short & female) and a tall male. She decided that I was her person. She's anxious around the tall man, and will bark a bit and try to exit the room he's in. She has not been aggressive, and if he's sitting down - she's more open to going up to him. She was very content to hang out in her crate in the same room as him. She seemed to do a little better with the shorter gentleman at the vet clinic. With me, she very quickly became my shadow. She follows me around the house, cuddles and snuggles, and has excellent recall when I call her. She has not had exposure to children while in my care.
Izzy is a 3 yr old German Shepherd, so seems to be past the crazy energy stage of her life. She's content to spend her energy extracting squeakers from toys or running around the yard. I'd categorize it as solidly medium. I think she'd LOVE a good hike or even be a good running buddy, but she won't destroy the house if she goes a few days without that. If she had a dog buddy who liked to play - she'd be in heaven!
She's moderately well-behaved on a leash. She pulls a little, but it's pretty manageable and she's so eager to please, that she'd likely respond very well to training in this area.
Izzy is friendly and wants to play; her energy was a bit much for my dogs who got a little growly with her. After a couple weeks, they've all settled in to a good routine.
Izzy is crated when I'm not home. She sleeps on a dog bed next to me at night.
Izzy is such a cuddle bug and a dingus. She'd love to be part of a close knit family, maybe as the center of attention or to share toys with 1 dog sibling.
