Congrats to this little lady on her adoption October 3, 2020!

PUPDATE 2

Miss Hazelnut has been enjoying the cooler weather by bringing her toys outside and parading around the yard with them. After she has successfully showed it off, she then rolls around in the grass to soak up some sun. Hazelnut really enjoys car rides, she’s so adorable looking out the window as her ears bounce around. Our leash manners have improved tremendously and we enjoy exploring on our walks. Crate time has been improving as well, just need to be sure to get her energy out before crating. Hazelnut can’t wait to meet you!

PUPDATE 1

Hazelnut is an outgoing little girl. She wakes me up in the morning when she needs to go potty, then we have our breakfast. I separate her from her sister to eat as she is a pretty quick eater and tries to steal her sister's food once she is done. Most days I have been working from home, so she gets to play and chew on toys while I work. Around noon, she gets some kennel time for a good solid couple hour nap, then back out to play for the rest of the day.

The more people Hazelnut meets, the more confidence she gets. She is a little hesitant initially, but quickly warms up to people. Hazelnut has not been around children with me. However, she was once introduced to an infant and was very curious and gentle with her.

Miss Hazelnut is a typical puppy with a higher energy level. She is pretty self-entertaining most of the day with naps scattered throughout. We are working on our leash manners and continues to improve each day.

Hazelnut enjoys playing and wrestling with her sister as well as playing with my resident boxer. My resident corgi and cats are not the biggest fans of her; however, Hazelnut is not aggressive with them. When Hazelnut gets to be a little much for the cats, a simple "leave it" command has been useful.

Being left alone is not one of Hazelnut's favorite things. She has improved her crate time immensely since coming to my home, but she still does have a little barking fit when she hasn't wore down all her energy. Since she is still learning what is not okay to chew on, she should not be left to free roam in the house right now.

Hazelnut is such a smart girl! It helps tremendously that she is food motivated, so training has been going smoothly. She is a talker, so may be best suited to not live in an apartment.
