Gus found his people on August 24, 2020!

Hi there! My name is Gus, a four month old Husky puppy! I am a very curious and fearless puppy that must inspect, taste, and sniff out everything in the world around me. That includes the counter for delicious food my foster humans are making, their shoes, and anything they have on the floor. I have lots of energy and if I'm not watched or entertained, I'll find my own things to do and the human's will later yell "NO" to me. I listen well but when they aren't looking, I'll go right back to what they call trouble. The foster humans tell me I am very smart and a quick learner but definitely stubborn. Can you blame me?! I only want to do things that I am motivated to do. Give me some treats and I will have all eyes on you. They tell me I need a strong leader, an experienced dog owner, and someone committed to training so I grow up into a well behaved dog. I'm currently teething so I like to nibble but with proper training, I should grow out of it.

I love following my foster humans around the house and will bark at them if I can't go where they go. Their hands are fun to nibble on as well but for some reason they keep yelping and telling me 'no.' I still am learning why I can't do that. I also enjoy jumping up on humans to get their attention and pets but will need training to continue to correct that as it would be as cute when I'm bigger and older. I love kids but sometimes they don't love me so much as I will chase, jump up, and nibble on them. No kids or older kids who can help with my training might be better fit.

I need my exercise, or I will go nuts (and apparently drive my foster family nuts too)! I love my daily 30-40 minute walks in the morning where I'm still have problems walking in a straight-line and try to pull the foster humans to walk faster. I definitely need to learn some leash manners. I nap in the late morning and afternoon (my favorite spot is under the foster humans’ feet) but loving playing ball and squeaking on toys around lunchtime and evening as well as playing the other dogs in the house.

I currently live with three other big dogs! I love to jump up on them and lick their faces and try and get them to play. When they play with me, I love to wrestle with them, play tug, and chase. I would be great with other dogs in the home but also don't mind keeping myself entertained if I don't have another dog friend. I'm an independent pup for sure! I did meet a cat while at the dog sitter. The cat didn't like me but I was unbothered and very curious. If I grow up with a cat, I would be ok with them but once I get big I might not see them as friends.

I love sleeping at night in my crate and wait patiently in the morning for everyone to get up. When the foster humans leave, I will bark a bit in my crate but settle right down. I also learned that I'm supposed to go potty outside but need some reminders as accidents do happen. If you let me out every 3-4 hours I keep my business outside inside of on the carpet...mostly.

I'm looking for a very active family who can be a good leader and give me strict rules and boundaries. I'm just as sweet as I look but have a naughty puppy side if I get bored. Teach me good manners and I'll be a great adventure buddy and cuddlier when I grow up.
