PUPDATE 2
Gigi has been doing really well now that the weather has warmed up and she's settled into her foster home a bit more. She loves to take strolls outside and has been doing a much better job with pottying now that she goes outside consistently. She typically goes outside in the morning, after breakfast, mid-day, after dinner, and right before bed. She does a really good job navigating outside even with her cataracts. For the most part she does a good job sticking close by paths and her humans, but every once in a while she wanders into a bush she couldn't quite see and comes back out with a little extra fluff. She's a little bit of a picky eater, but we found a food that she really enjoys and she's been doing well with it. Her favorite thing to do is still napping close by a warm human with a comfy pillow or blanket.
PUPDATE 1
Gigi is a sweet old lady who loves to nap! She loves to follow her humans around until she can find a comfy place near you to curl up, but she prefers to snuggle up next to you. She can’t do stairs by herself and relies on her humans to help her get onto couches.
Gigi loves everyone she meets, but really enjoys cuddling up next to men. Gigi has not had exposure to children in foster care.
She is a teeny old lady and Gigi doesn’t need a lot of exercise. She gets her walks in following you around the house.
Gigi is ambivalent towards other dogs and prefers napping comfortably in her bed to playing. She gets protective of her humans around puppies, so she would prefer to be with older dogs or the only pet. Gigi has not been exposed to cats in foster care.
She has been left alone free roaming and in a crate. When she is left outside her crate, she seems to spend her time roaming around looking for her humans, but she’ll settle down for a nap when left in her crate.
Gigi has a heart murmur and will need a dental in the next 6-12 months. Depending on the directive of your vet, she may need some additional diagnostics prior to the dental due to her age and heart murmur.
Gigi has limited vision and is hard of hearing. She does alright with pee pads, but sometimes misses because she can’t see them. She’s been doing well with dog diapers when she isn't being watched closely.
