Ford found his family January 10, 2021!
Ford is such an amazing puppy!!!! He typically sleeps in his crate from 10pm to about 6 am with one potty break in the night. When he wakes up, we let him out in the yard and then he eats a big breakfast. He is SO happy to see his humans in the morning and greets us with lots of tail wagging and excitement.
Ford LOVES people. He is happiest when he is in the same room with people, playing with his toys.
He adores kids and currently lives with 4 kids. He needs to be redirected sometimes when he gets a little rough or nippy with our toddler.
Ford is a high energy puppy. He needs lots of puppy playtime to tire him out. He is learning to walk on a leash, but that is a work in progress. He is still a little clumsy and is working on navigating curbs, snow, trees, and all the other "dangers" of the outside world. When he has plenty of exercise, he will fall asleep right in your lap and take a snooze.
Ford currently lives with our resident dog and enjoys her company. He is very respectful of older dogs cues and is submissive to them. He would benefit from lots of interaction with other dogs so he can learn dog behaviors. He was curious to meet a cat, but left him alone when he ran away.
When we leave Ford alone, we put him in a crate. He still whines/barks in his crate at the beginning so an apartment would not be a fit. He is not trustworthy in the home unsupervised because he chews and will eat non-dog items.
Ford is going to make a great, loyal companion. He will need help learning about potty training and basic manners and will need supervision and attention to get him through his puppy stage. His energy is contagious, and his sweet personality is going to make his adopters so happy.
