Updates

We’ve loved fostering little Elliot and if we were looking for another dog, he’d be a keeper.

Elliot lost his left eye as a puppy during some rough play. It doesn’t bother him, but he doesn’t have the greatest depth perception sometimes. For instance, he won’t go up our stairs to the second floor on his own (he prefers to be carried). He’s ok with going up and down shorter flights of stairs on his own though (1-2 steps).

Elliot was a beloved family dog for most of his life, but his prior owner surrendered him to Fetch after he was attacked by a coyote in their yard (in rural Louisiana) and she didn’t think she could keep him safe from another attack. Due to his prior injury, he walks with a slight limp but he’s very mobile (he loves wandering around our fenced back yard, even now that it has snowed).

Elliot gets along well with other dogs (but he doesn’t like dogs that are too rambunctious around him since that’s how he lost his eye). He likes to share a dog bed with our other foster, Betty. As he’s gotten more comfortable in our home, he’s also started to show his playful side and likes wrestling with our resident dog.

We’ve only taken Elliot on short walks given the weather, but he’s not a dog that needs a lot of exercise. We crate Elliot at night and when we leave the house for longer periods of time, but he would likely be fine uncrated. He’s tolerant of the crate, but he doesn’t love it. Elliot is potty trained, but he did have a tendency to mark in the house when we first started fostering him (common for male dogs). He’s never chewed on anything in the house.

Elliot is a huge cuddler and loves to be invited onto the couch to snuggle. He was allowed to sleep in bed with the humans in his prior home. He’s very tolerant of our two year old, who loves to hug him, pet him and cover him with blankets. Elliot lived with kids in his prior home and we’ve been told he also was friends with the cat in his prior home.

Elliot is an amazingly sweet pup who is looking for his forever family!
