Updates

Congrats on Drip’s adoption November 10, 2020!

PUPDATE 2

Drip is working hard on daily training and learning to watch her foster mom while she is walking on a leash. By bringing lots of treats with us, she is overcoming fears of cars and other dogs day by day! This little gal is all healed from her eye surgery.

PUPDATE 1

Drip is a beautiful, high-energy puppy! She loves to take walks every day, play inside or outside, and then settles down easily for the night. She is a sweet little companion who would be delighted to be part of an active family!

She loves the attention of her people! Kids are her favorite, but truly, she just loves being paid attention to! Drip needs slow interactions meeting other dogs, as she can get overly excited. She does relax after a few minutes, and seems to enjoy older, larger breeds rather than one her size. We would recommend she be an only dog in her new home, or have an older pup to demonstrate best behavior! Drip can already sit and lay down on command!

Drip is a high-energy pup but can slow down when necessary. Walks really tire her out and she is doing great at walking on a leash! She has been fostered with her littermate and they often walk together.

She gets very excited when seeing/meeting other dogs. She does usually calm down after a few minutes and prefers dogs that are bigger/wiser than her to show her the ropes. She has not been tested around cats.

Drip is crate trained and will stay in her crate patiently while you are away. She has been left alone in gated sections of our home for about an hour at a time. She does well in both situations. She has been perfect overnight since she came to visit us, although we occasionally hear her squeaking a toy while we sleep. :)

Drip is blind in her right eye, but it does not hold her back one bit from being the silly, amazing companion that she is! She has no difficulty seeing to play normally, and she is the fastest, most agile puppy in our care. It is comical to watch her zoom around our yard and then dive under chairs to hide from her brother! Her eye will need to be monitored at her regular checkups to ensure it is healthy for the rest of her life!

Drip had surgery to remove her right eye, which was blind.  She is recovering well and everything is in the process of healing a week after surgery!  We affectionately say she is a silly "winky" puppy!  We are so proud of her and all she's overcome!

Drip is working on being friends with other dogs, and tends to be a bit anxious until she knows them.  We have worked with her on staying focused on us while she meets other puppies, and she is learning trust and how to have fun along the way!
