Updates

Ava found her furever family on November 10, 2020!

Ava wakes up before 8am. She has to go outside immediately to potty and then eats breakfast. She spends half of the day out of her crate hanging with her dog foster brother, and the other half we keep her in her crate. Dinner time is at 5pm and a nightly walk and/or outdoor playtime. Ava’s bedtime varies, but she sleeps in her crate and goes in easily with a treat.

She loves people although she has not met a ton but is very happy to meet anybody new. Ava has shown no aggression and hasn’t met children yet.

Ava is medium to high energy level.  She loves to be outside (would enjoy a fenced yard!), and she enjoys playing with other pets or people. She walks well on a leash with a harness (pulled too much without one) and she now "heels" pretty well.

Ava absolutely adores her dog foster brother and is his shadow, mimicking him and following him everywhere. She would do well in a home with another dog as she is very submissive.  Ava has some separation anxiety and likes to be near her people or other animals in the home. Her ideal home would have other pets to help her transition and work on crate training. She is good with dogs that prefer to be the dominant one. Ava is good with cats as well - she is curious about them but never aggressive, even allowing them to swat her with no reaction.

She will eat anything she shouldn't (alone or not) and needs to be watched almost constantly. Ava should not be left alone without supervision.

Ava is a professional cuddler and her favorite place to be is in your lap or right next to you. She learns quickly from watching our older dog and knows to sit and wait for her food until we tell her "ok". She has had a couple of accidents in the house but is very good at knowing to go to the bathroom when taken outside.
