DJ found his forever home on October 26, 2021!

Updates

A typical day for DJ includes waking up and taking him out for a short walk, then he eats and takes his pain medication. When I get home from work, we go for a longer walk and then snuggle in until dinner.

DJ loves all people, he gets very excited when he sees people whether we are on a walk or people come over to the house.

I have not seen DJ interact with children, but he gets very excited when he sees them on walks.

DJ has a fairly low energy level, but he loves going on long walks. Every once in a while he gets a burst of energy and plays with his toys.

I haven't seen DJ with any other dogs, but he does get excited when seeing dogs while on walks. He loves to greet and sniff them.

DJ pulls on the leash a little while walking but other than that I have found no behavioral issues. He's been an absolute pleasure to foster.

I have not seen DJ interact with any cats.

DJ has not had any accidents in my house. I let him roam free while I'm gone and he has never chewed on anything he isn't supposed to, in fact when I get home he's usually in his crate.

DJ gets a little ansty in the car. He doesn't whine or run around the car, he just doesn't lay down and enjoy the ride.

DJ has arthritis in his back legs and he takes pain medication twice a day to help alleviate the pain. He also recently had to have all but four of his teeth removed so he has to have soft food and soft treats. He is a sweetheart who loves to be by his person, but is not a kisser. The vet also noticed signed of nuclear sclerosis, which is a normal aging change that occurs in almost all dogs. It is caused by a compaction of lens fibers over time. No treatment is necessary for this, and it is very unlikely that it impacts DJ’s life.

DJ is a sweet old boy looking for his forever home!
