Updates
Dexter sleep in his crate overnight and immediately goes out for a poo and pee n the morning. He then eats breakfast along with the resident dogs, and is he very good about waiting his turn to be fed. Dexter then goes back in his crate for a few hours before going outside again for another poo and pee. On most days, we like to visit a farm where Dexter enjoys running with our resident dogs. He love to play and run and always comes back to check on where his humans are. Dexter is not allowed to free roam in the home when his humans are away due to his ongoing potty training. While Dexter is fine in his crate when he can see his humans, he barks a lot when his humans are outside or away. This could be a problem for apartment dwellers though this behavior may go away once Dexter settles into a routine and home life. He is still very much a puppy!
When out on our walks, Dexter is great on leash. He really wants to be with his human. He is interested in other dogs but does not bark or lunge. He generally likes humans and is happy to welcome strangers into the home.
Dexter has not met any children. He is still a puppy so there could be a lot of face licking and rough play.
Dexter is a medium energy dog. We go out for long walks and upon returning home, Dexter and the other dogs may lay around for hours with Dexter in his crate. If however his humans go out of the home, Dexter wll bark from his crate indicating he does not like to be yet left alone.
Dexter immediately warmed up to our two resident dogs and they get along great. We were able to dog sit for some friends and Dexter welcomed the strange dog into our home with no issues.
Dexter has not been exposed to cats.
Dexter is anxious when left alone and will bark for a long period. We think this will likely abate once he settles in and starts becoming an adult. This could be a problem for apartment dwellers in the meantime
Dexter is a wonderful and affectionate juvenile dog. He is super cute and just a joy to be around. He is smart and is learning quickly. He is not yet housebroken so his new owner will need the patience to continue his training.
