Meet Cruister! This on the go dude and his short, little legs are ready to find his people. He is a playful, energetic and cuddly pup, just dripping with personality.

Cruiser is a very typical, almost 3 month old puppy. He is only 10 lbs so he won't get huge at full grown but what he lacks in size he makes up for in personality and sass. He can be pretty dramatic. The first day he was here, I put him down in the yard while the other dogs were across the yard and he started screaming. It only took him a day or so to settle in with the bigger dogs but if he isn't comfortable with something, he will definitely let you know.

He spends his days practicing crate training, playing in the yard with his foster siblings and emptying out the toy box. He loves meal times and has done well sharing his eating space with the other puppy we are fostering, though I hang out pretty close and make sure everyone sticks to their own bowls. The kitten did start to sniff around his food bowl and he quietly growled to let her know that it was his. He plays hard but if the other puppy is being obnoxious or too extra he will give a very stern correction to her. After a busy day of playing, he loves to snuggle near the humans as the evening winds down.

Cruiser does pretty well with potty training if you keep him on a schedule. He goes outside right away after being let out of the crate, naps or bouts of heavy playtime. He does still have accidents though so he will need to be watched closely. He is used to being crated throughout the day with several breaks. He is usually crated for a couple hours at a time and then gets a 20-30 minute break to get his wiggles out. He will have accidents in the crate if left much longer than 3 hours right now. We started with him crated right next to me (during the day and overnight) and have gradually moved him further away. Right now he is crated out of sight from me but just on the other side of a wall with the door open so he can still hear me. Overnight he is crated across the bedroom from me. He still needs at least one break overnight to go potty but he is good at letting you know when he needs to go out.

Cruiser is a pretty friendly guy and just takes a few seconds to approach new friends, especially if they have treats. He had a playdate with three dog saavy girls aged 2-7 and did great. He stood back a bit to watch when they were running around the yard but you could tell he was very curious about them and wanted to join in. He was comfortable being handled by them and enjoyed all the attention. He is still busy growing teeth and gets mouthy when he gets excited so he would need supervision with really young kids until he learns those boundaries.

He currently has three other pups in his foster home; two adult dogs and another puppy about his same age. He was initially overwhelmed with the other pups but settled in after a day or so. He plays mostly with the other puppy. He really wants to be friends with the adult dogs but they are less interested. He can be a little bit annoying with them and needs some help remembering to give them some space when they would prefer he leave them alone. Overall he is pretty submissive with them and he does read the cues pretty well when they give him a correction. I would suggest continued supervised socialization with other dogs (daycare or playgroups) so he can get lots of practice being corrected by humans and other pups but he is very playful/loves other dogs and would do great with another pup in his forever home.

Cruiser does have a kitty in his foster home. He is interested in the kitty and tries to play/chase with the cat. He does sometimes bark at the cat through the baby gate. Based on my observations, I think he could live with a cat but would need supervised interaction and some correction from both felines and humans so he can learn those boundaries.

Cruiser gets most of his energy out playing with the other pups in his home. He loves wrestling and playing chase. He is a medium energy guy that likes long naps after play time. He does ok on leash but walks like a typical puppy so will need some practice. So far we have made it around the block and he was pretty pooped by the time we got back. He does well in the car (crated) and settles in fairly quickly for the ride.

Cruiser hasn't been left alone too often but when we do leave, he needs to be crated as he is still very much a puppy. He will chew on cords, shoes, scraps on the floor, etc so will need to be closely monitored. He has made great strides with crate training and has graduated to being crated outside of my immediate office space while I work and settles back in with just a little fuss after a breaks.

We have loved having this sweet, spunky pup with us and know he will bring lots of love and sass with him to his forever home!
