Updates

Officially adopted April 11!

Cassie gets up at 6 am and waits to see me before barking and getting excited. She goes out and goes potty right away and then comes in to eat. She loves her food time. She plays hard with her foster dog brother Comet and my resident dog. She goes out about an hour after eating to go potty again. She plays hard and sleeps hard on and off all day long. We go out about every hour or so to go potty, always after she wakes up or an hour after she eats. She is learning to be potty regulated but still occasionally pees on the floor or towel I keep on the floor. All rugs are currently put away.

Cassie loves everyone! She is a typical puppy and likes to jump up and paw people but settles down and loves to be pet. She is a great snuggler. She walks like a puppy on a leash. She makes about a two block walk every day. She walks with three other dogs so it keeps her going. She greets everyone we meet and has no dog aggression.

She loves kids but does not have boundaries with them yet. Cassie likes to jump up and play with them, that includes puppy biting and scratching. Keeping her nails trimmed is imperative, she will let me Dremel her nails. She plays chase with my 4-year-old grandson in the back yard and likes to play tug with toys. Her puppy play with kids is improving but my grandson is good with enforcing boundaries. She has shown great improvement over the past week.

Cassie is an active puppy that plays hard and sleeps hard. We do a two large block walk once a day and lots of running and playing in the backyard with her sister and my resident dog. She is learning the harness and leash and does well with the group. If she does not have another dog to play with, she will need lots of activity with her family to wear her out and keep her from bored puppy trouble.

Cassie loves other dogs and is not a dominant dog. She plays hard but plays well with other dogs. She respects my older dog’s desire to not play. If she does not have a playmate, she will need more structured activities with her humans (fetch, walks, tug time). She would do better in a home with another dog to reduce separation anxiety. She likes to snuggle with another dog.  Cassie does not live with cats.

She has separation anxiety. She crates well with her litter mate. Alone in the crate she needs music or a tv on to reduce anxiety. She would do better with another dog at home or in a home with someone home.

Cassie is a wonderful pup for 10 weeks. She is adjusting to crate training, potty training and leash walking. She is working on sit, waiting for food, coming when called and not jumping up on people. She loves food and cannot be left with access to it or she will gobble it down. Kids should not have food in their hands where she would be tempted to get it. She will eventually learn to leave it. She has a loving, kind personality and wants to do the right thing. She loves attention but will also lie on her bed on the floor and chew on toys or nap.
