Updates

Officially adopted on January 22, 2021!

Cierra wakes up when I do so around 9:30am, then we go downstairs for breakfast and I feed her. We usually go on a 2 mile walk in the mornings. She does a lot of napping while I do homework and other things. She gets random spurts of energy throughout the day and usually wants to play fetch or tug of war. She does tend to have to go to the bathroom quite a bit so I take her out every 2 hours otherwise she might have an accident. After dinner, she loves to just cuddle on the couch with us while we watch TV. She goes to bed when I do.

She loves people. Whenever she is on a walk, she wants to meet everyone we pass. She is very friendly in most cases, but sometimes a little shy. If she is somewhat familiar with the person, she gets very excited. She tends to jump up on people if she knows them, but she is just trying to give them a hug. We are working on that still. Overall, Cierra is very good with people including strangers. In terms of inside the home, she is the most loving sweet pup! I have never met a dog who loves to cuddle so much; she loves the attention.  Cierra does not have exposure to children.

Her energy level depends on the hour. She’s very energetic in the morning especially when she wakes up. However, after dinner she is very calm and sleepy. One minute she could be napping and the next a little riled up and wanting to play. She needs at least a walk every day. She likes being outside and walking around. Cierra has gotten so much better on the leash. She used to pull the whole time, but now she has gotten used to walking next to me.

Cierra is pretty good with dogs. She insists on meeting everyone we pass as well. If she does not get to meet them, then she might bark once or twice, but then eventually will just keep walking. No aggression at all towards any dogs that she has met. Cierra has not met a cat.

She needs to be put in the crate when left alone. Cierra is very good about it though and does not seem to mind. She has gotten in a bit of trouble when she was not put in her crate.

Cierra has some tartar accumulation so an adopter should anticipate a dental within the next 1-2 years.

She does not like to take baths. Otherwise, she is very go with the flow type of dog. She is a very tame, sweet girl!
