Buster found his home January 27, 2021!

Buster is a morning dog! He is the most active in the morning, wanting to play and move. After a morning walk, he is a couch potato and follows you around the house mostly wanting attention.

Buster has been great with meeting new people. He warms up to them immediately when people come over and while on walks gets excited seeing someone new. He's shown zero aggression to people. Buster has no exposure to children in his foster home.

He tends to be low energy but does best with a walk at least once a day. He is a perfect walking dog if he doesn't see people or other dogs (that's the only time he pulls). The walk doesn't need to be long either, I generally take him on a 1 mile walk that has a few big hills.

Buster hasn't been exposed to any dogs inside the house but he lived with another dog before I had him. He shows excitement seeing dogs on walks and haven't seen any aggression other than barking when he can’t play with the dog.

He has no exposure to cats other than seeing them outside (they were outside the fenced in yard he was in).

Buster does excellent when alone! On one occasion, I left him alone for about an hour and put some camera's up and a little "trap" (piece of bread on a plate at his level) and all he did was sniff it and crash on the couch until I got home. He's never shredded paper or toys while being left alone.

He is overweight and could use some calorie restriction to help him live his best life.  Buster may need a dental in the next 1-2 years.  In the past, Buster suffered seasonal allergies in the Summer/Fall timeframe needing allergy shots to help control the discomfort.  While in foster care, Buster has shown no allergy concerns with the colder weather. Adopters should plan to discuss allergies and a dental with their vet.

Buster is not food motivated so when it comes to training, he loves the physical touch and positive tone.  He already knows basic commands and very easy to train!! With the right training, this dog would be the perfect doggo!
