Belle found her forever family January 27, 2021!

Belle spends the night in her crate, so we let her out around 6:30am when we get up to go outside and potty. She is kind of a picky eater and will generally only eat when there's no other distractions (i.e. humans) around, so we feed her in her crate. She gets a short walk (still on activity restriction from heartworm treatment until 2/2), and then hangs out while we work from home. She is very low energy and quiet during the day, and prefers to either sit in your lap or sleep in her blanket nest on the couch. She gets let out around noon for another potty break, then dinner around 5pm and another walk. Then she gets let out one more time before bed (9:30pm). She has been doing really well with house training; she only had one accident the first day we had her.

Belle has not really met any new people due to the pandemic, but the one time I had a friend over to pick up something, Belle seemed pretty friendly toward her. Belle loves people and will approach them without hesitation.  Belle hasn't met any children in her foster home.

Belle is pretty low energy; I'm not sure if that's her personality in general or if it's because of the heartworm treatment she's received. She does pretty well on a leash (she wears a harness on walks) and doesn't really react to other dogs but does zig zag quite a bit when walking.

So far, Belle and our resident dog have largely ignored each other. Belle seems to be more submissive and would probably be fine in a home with another dog if the other dog is friendly. She also ignores other dogs we see on walks.  Belle has not had any exposure to cats.

She does tend to whine a bit when we crate her or leave her in a gated off area when we're gone. I have not seen her chew on anything she's not supposed to, and her house training is pretty good, so I would eventually work up to letting her free roam when we are out of the house.

Belle is a trooper and is almost done with heartworm treatment.  She will be all clear after February 2 and back to her normal activity levels.  The vet recommended a dental in the next 1-2 years.

Belle can be a picky eater (prefers wet food over dry food). Belle is really sweet, and her favorite activity is cuddles from her people.
