Brutus wakes up 9-10 am, goes outside to relieve himself, and plays all day long with his two foster siblings. While we work at home, we sometimes rotate Brutus to a separate room where he calms down for 1-2 hours. If Brutus is drinking a lot of water due to high activity, we make sure to take him out regularly (2-3 hours after drink) to make sure he doesn't have an accident. He gets 1 cup of kibble in the morning and 1.5 cups for dinner. He sleeps through the night without problems.
Brutus is a well-adjusted, well-socialized dog. He loves all humans but has not met any children in this foster family.
He is a medium energy dog with some puppy energy left in him. He walks well on the leash and only pulls when he sees other dogs and squirrels. He has energy to play with two active big dogs multiple times (3-4x) a day, but tires after 10-15 min.
Brutus reacts well to other dogs and a previous Texas foster family has said he is good with the two cats as well. Foster siblings play rough, and we have noticed some nipping at the neck which is discouraged immediately. Otherwise, he plays well and understands boundaries.
He can be left alone for 3-4 hours in a closed room. He will go to bed during that time. We have not tested leaving him home for longer due to COVID. We usually leave him with some toys and bones. He whines for 1-2 minutes, but then is quiet.
Brutus seems to be house trained, but due to high activity level, he drinks a lot of water. He has had a few accidents after foster family wasn't able to take him out to relieve himself after 2-3 hours after a long run and long drink.
