Say hello to Black Forest Cake (BFC)! She is a 4-month-old Terrier mix and is such a fantastic pup. Possibly my favorite foster dog so far. Black Forest Cake is an incredibly social puppy. She LOVES people and will often sit on my lap for extended periods of time. BFC is happiest when she’s napping on you or next to our resident dog. She was in the kitchen the entire time while we were cooking for the holidays. She knows sit and is food motivated for training.
BFC can be a bit mouthy like most pups, but she never bites, it's more or an affectionate response on her part. Because of this, she should not be in a home with small children until she’s a bit older.
She is mostly potty trained, but still has the occasional accident if we’re not paying attention to her signs. BFC will typically go to the door and shake the bell when she needs to go outside which is helpful unless we aren't in the same area of the house. We let her out when she wakes up from a nap and after a vigorous play session.
While BFC is crate trained, she will wake up and whine multiple times during the night. She settles down immediately when she is around people though. Her typical routine is to sleep from 10 pm to 6 am.
BFC is enjoying the toys she received for the holidays. Her favorite thing is to get ALL the toys out of the basket each day. She is incredibly playful with our six-year-old lab-mix rescue resident dog. They have multiple play sessions indoors and outdoors throughout the day. She's a curious pup who is becoming more independent each day. She enjoys looking out the window but doesn’t do much barking at passersby.
This pup is super snuggly. Who doesn’t want that on cold Wisconsin nights?
