PUPDATE 2
Twinkle has been settling in with us - the longer we have her, the more we've noticed improved behavior. We are working on impulse control with her. We have her sit and wait before we let her out of the crate, and before she eats. She still jumps up on us a lot and likes to nip when playing, so probably not good around small children. It takes about 2 hrs of activity (playing with our resident dog/neighbor's dog or playing with toys) to tire her out. She has been attending daycare at Dog Dog, and plays well with the dogs there. She is a very sweet dog, but likes to test boundaries and would need more physical and mental stimulation than most dogs.
PUPDATE 1
Twinkle is a confident, outgoing pup who enjoys socializing with other dogs and humans. At 5 months old, she still exhibits some puppy behaviors, such as jumping on people and being mouthy during play. We are working to train her out of those behaviors (asking her to sit when she jumps) and she is responding positively. She is a quick learner as well; she picked up "sit" fairly quickly. She sleeps in her crate at night after a few minutes of whining initially; during the day when we work from home, we do crate her and she gets a bit whiny when someone is not in the room with her. She loves to play with stuffed toys - she knows where the toy basket is and will find it and pull out all her favorite toys and leave them around the house. We have been feeding her meals on a snuffle mat because otherwise she gulps her food down. This helps provide her with mental stimulation and makes her work for her food. She gets 4 walks a day with us. We haven't tried running with her as she still weaves a bit on leash, but with some training she could be a great jogging buddy. She has had zero accidents inside since we got her, and I would consider her fully housetrained.
We took her over to our neighbor's for a playdate with their dog and toddler - she loved wrestling and chasing their dog, and mostly ignored their kid. She did jump up on him though, so that's something to be mindful of. She does ok on car rides - does not get carsick but would need to be restrained either in a crate or tethered, as she will try to climb in the front seat on top of you while you're driving because she loves you so much. Overall, Twinkle is a very sweet and energetic pup who would love to find an active family to spend the holidays with!
