Updates

PUPDATE 2

Autumn wakes up around 7 when I get up. After getting ready, I walk her 30-50 min or take her for a run. I work from home so she has been out of her crate most of the day. She gets another walk in late afternoon. She goes out to go to the bathroom once more before bed. She has the most energy first thing in the morning and she’s more laid back in the evening.

Autumn has been doing well with 2-3 walks or outside play sessions a day. This seems to be enough exercise for her to behave well during the day but she has the capacity and willingness to go on much longer adventures. Once she’s gotten some exercise she'll sleep for most of the day, getting up a few times during the day to play or chew a favorite toy.

Autumn has been friendly to everyone she meets and gives lots of kisses. She sometimes jumps up on people when excited. She loves to snuggle and will take all the pets and belly rubs she can get. She would love sleeping in the bed with you if you let her.
She has not had any exposure to children while in my care.

Autumn has medium to high energy. She would do well in a house that can give at least 2 walks a day and/or a has fenced yard to run in. Besides some pulling, she has good leash manners. She behaves very well on leash when running. She loves playing fetch or chase to get some energy out as well. She does well in the car and thrives in all kinds of new environments. If her people are doing something, she wants to come with too!

Autumn had interacted well with every dog she’s met. She currently lives with her brother in the foster home and they play and snuggle all day. Of the pair, she is more dominant. She approaches new dogs slowly and warms up to them quickly. She has an energetic play style. She also appropriately adapts her play style when playing with smaller dogs. She’s full of personality and uses her voice to communicate.

She has not had exposure to cats while in my care.

Autumn pulls a bit when walking and is working on her leash manners. She's very smart and eager to please so she’s making great progress on loose leash training. She loves to explore and will get into things if allowed. She will need to be supervised or be in a dog-proofed environment until she learns what she is and is not allowed to chew. She loves toys but hasn’t possessive of them. She’s fully potty trained and has not had any accidents.

Autumn is crated when left alone. She sometimes whines for a minute when being left home alone but calms down quickly.

Autumn was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in January but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, she is currently being given a round of antibiotics.
Overall, Autumn is a very sweet, cuddly girl. She wants to be your adventure buddy.
