Athena found her family January 15, 2021!
Athena gets up around 6:30 am, out for potty, then breakfast. She plays with her toys, including a nice chew on a Kong that is filled with treats and a mix of plain yogurt/peanut butter that is frozen. Athena prefers a walk mid/late morning, then settles for a nap and more play on her toys or with the resident dog. She gets supper around 5:30 pm and then a longer walk. She gets a potty break around 8:30 pm and then settles for the night. She sleeps all night. Athena occasional sleeps in her crate during the night, but generally we let her sleep on our bed.
Athena loves all people and has not had issues with meeting anyone new. She does jump up initially when she meets people, that settles down when given the command “off“. She is loving and cuddly to everyone. She has not had a lot of exposure to children, but does well meeting them on walks and letting them pet her.
She loves to walk and does well on leash. If you have a fenced yard, she will run and be content to sniff around. Athena loves being outdoors. She will need regular walks (2-3) per day if you don't have a fenced yard.
Athena does well with other dogs and plays hard with them. She is still a puppy so has she to be watched not to get too aggressive playing with the resident dog. Athena does well, though, when redirected. She has not met a cat in her foster home.
She does well when alone so she can free roam on her own. She has not chewed any furniture or other food left out. She has only reached for dog treats left on counter.
Athena is very affectionate, loves to cuddle into her humans for a nice sleep, placing her head on your lap. She has a fun personality and is very smart. She knows sit, shake, paw, lay down, wait, leave it and drop it.
