Updates

Little Artemisia found her furever home on August 4, 2020!

PUPDATE 2:

Artemisia has adjusted to life in her foster home so quickly!  She has done great adapting to her new schedule and is even starting to pick up a few new tricks! Artemisia knows ‘sit’ and that she needs to sit to wait for her food bowl to be put on the ground.  She has even started letting us know when she needs to go outside by sitting by the door.  Artemisia is still learning ‘crate’ but will happily go inside her crate when you throw in a treat.  She is very food motivated so I know that this is just the tip of the iceberg of what she can learn!

Artemisia was also left alone in her crate for the first time this week, and she was a star!  She didn’t make any noise, and didn’t even whine or whimper when we got back home.  Given Artemisia’s stunning good looks, she has met a lot of strangers when out for her walks.  She is so friendly with everybody she meets, and promptly steals everybody’s heart.  I’m already jealous of Artemisia’s future family!

PUPDATE 1:

Artemisia loves to play hard and nap hard! She goes on one or two 20-minute walks a day with plenty of bathroom breaks in between. She typically likes to play with her chew toys and tennis ball when she gets back from a walk, before settling in for a nap. She loves to run after her tennis ball at home and is getting the hang of playing fetch. Since Artemisia is still a puppy, she does need to be taken out in the middle of the night for bathroom breaks. But she has made huge progress in both her crate training and potty training in the short week that she has been in foster care.

She has not had any interactions with children but is always eager to meet other people when she is out on her walks. She loves to hello and get pets and attention from any stranger who is willing to give it to her!

Artemisia is a medium energy puppy. She has spurts of high energy, and will get the zoomies occasionally, but is general a very chill puppy. She does great entertaining herself with her toys when her humans are otherwise occupied. Artemisia loves her walks but is still learning her leash manners. She has the nose of a hound and wants to smell everything when she is outside. She also loves sitting down and people watching when out for a walk. Artemisia is a fast learner, so she will definitely be able to learn her manners if given the opportunity!

Artemisia has met three dogs so far and did fabulously. She has already made friends with Fetch alum Georgette! She frequently shows interest in other dogs when out for walks, and will sometimes approach them to say a quick hello. Artemisia has been around a very skiddish resident cat. When feeling playful, she will sometimes chase the cat, but it just out of a desire to play and have fun! Artemisia also has stretches where she will completely ignore the cat as well.

Due to working from home, Artemisia has not yet been left alone.

Artemisia is a super sweet puppy who loves to cuddle with her foster Mom. She is extremely prone to crawling into anybody's cross-legged lap. She would make a great addition to any family!
