Arby's Christmas Poem

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, all we doggies are silent, just like a mouse. My bio is posted on our website with care, I hope every minute someone will see it there. They'll come to adopt me, and give us the call, "Come here quick Arby - come fetch your new ball!!” But now I sit here and think of the days...I was treated so fondly - I had cute, baby ways. Once I was little, then I grew and i grew, now I’m no longer a puppy, and no longer new.  No one knows my story, they said I was “stray,” I was lost and not found and could not find my way.

Now I am in rescue, I know what that means, a safe spot to live, and a home in my dreams. If you take a chance and be a bright light, I will love you forever and ever, my whole life.

Arby AKA Superdog is in action! Take a look here.

PUDPATE 2

Arby continues to thrive in training. He has done well with every dog he’s played with, even puppies.

He has been introduced to the barn cats, on leash, and was a bit afraid of them. Given the chance he might chase a fearful cat, otherwise I think he would just ignore them. He was shocked by the size of the horses, but listened well, again on leash.

He would love an adopter who likes to run, play ball, do agility, and anything active.  He would also be great with one or two well socialized dogs to help him become confident.

Arby would do best with a fenced yard to play in, or a contained area such as a kennel run.  He should not be left to entertain himself, so a crate would be great when he's left alone at home.

Arby should not be around small children, whether living with or visiting.  He is fast and has bowling ball tendencies!

No dog parks or doggy daycare for now. Unruly dogs will put him over threshold, as well as being “ handled” by strangers. He has done well with every meeting I’ve done with strangers, but they have all been passive meetings, not active (as in they aren’t asking anything of him) and highly controlled. The last introduction to a stranger had Arby seeking pets and rubbing himself against her like a cat within an hour!

He is unsure of strangers and may feel nervous enough to bite if that person comes into his territory and is not properly introduced. Arby would love an adopter that will advocate for him in situations that may make him nervous.

He is super smart and very willing once he knows you. I have done everything from obedience to trick training with him and he loves to learn.  He just needs the proper home in order to thrive. He has been bounced around so many times in his young life that he just needs stability and a knowledgeable person to adopt him, be dog savvy and continue training with him. The adopter should be comfortable using or willing to learn how to use a muzzle, a prong collar, and ecollar, although I’ve not had to use them very often.

He’s a good listener and kennels willingly and is pretty quiet in general.

Please open your heart and give him a chance to be the best dog ever.
