Updates

Trail is a happy-go-lucky puppy that absolutely adores attention, loves to rest her head on your chest, and is pretty convinced she's a lap dog! She is flexible with her schedule and can quickly adapt to modifications. Currently, she sleeps in her crate at night with her blankets and toys. Trail waits patiently for us to wake up in the morning for work, so she generally has her first potty break sometime between 8am and 10am. After this she has breakfast and either has playtime with her foster sister or gets some one-on-one love and attention. She then takes her morning nap in the crate while we go to work. Trail has her second potty break around 1pm when she goes outside for more playtime with her foster sister for about an hour. She then has her afternoon nap while we finish work. For the evening, Trail has dinner, a potty break, and more one-on-one time to play tug of war, play fetch outside, or learn some new tricks! She is currently mastering Sit, Lay Down, and Roll Over! Once we're ready for bed - which in our family is usually around 11pm or midnight - we check to see if Trail wants one more potty break, and then we tuck her in to her crate for the night.

Trail absolutely loves people and loves meeting new people too! She is a delight and very friendly with perfectly relaxed and wiggly body language. Trail loves curling right up onto your lap and pressing her head against your chest for love and pets. She loves cuddles, pets, playing, and snuggling with her people - it's her favorite part of the day!

Trail has not had exposure to children during her time as our foster.

Trail requires a couple hours a day of getting her wiggles out and receiving pets but is very flexible and is also accustomed to taking long naps while her foster parents are working. When getting her exercise in for the day, Trail does great running around on her own or with her foster sister in our yard, she plays fetch, she is thrilled by playing tug-of-war and showing you her various toys, and she loves exploring with her humans. Trail is still practicing her leash manners and is very responsive to voice / her name. When she sees something exciting on the leash, we call her name to refocus her attention and reward her for her focus.

Trail is very excited to meet new dogs and loves to run around and play with her friends. She currently spends time each day playing outside with her foster sister and has had no issues making friends! Trail is a very gentle, jolly playmate, and a typical puppy!

Trail has not had exposure to cats during her time as our foster.

When we leave home we put Trail in her crate where she usually settles down very quickly into a nap. Sometimes she lets out small cries for a couple minutes before settling in if she has not had enough exercise or if she needs to go potty. Once settled in the crate, Trail is a patient, perfect pup and she has not had any accidents!

As a puppy, Trail is still perfecting her manners and learning which household items are toys. She's a fast and excited learner that is very eager to please. We have had no issues with Trail related to leash manners, toys, car rides, or crate training, but she will of course need to be supported and loved as she continues learning how to best behave in various situations that are new to her!
