Updates

Addy wakes up around 6am and we take her out to go potty in our backyard. She typically does her business right away and then it’s inside for breakfast! She then goes back and forth between playing with toys and sleeping throughout the day. She is good at entertaining herself but will find things (she likes hair ties) that she shouldn't be playing with.

Addy LOVES her people! She is such a snuggler and loves to give kisses. She prefers to be by her humans at all times. She also likes it when her humans talk to her and play tug of war with her. She came from a place down south where she was entirely an outside kennel dog so I think she really appreciates and gets attached to her humans quickly. Loves to love and receive pets and love back.

Addy has not had exposure to children while in my care.

Addy is medium to high energy. I liken her energy to that of a puppy where she likes to play hard and run around with our two dogs and cats and play with toys but also likes to get several naps in throughout the day. Addy would benefit from having toys and bones to keep her busy. We don't walk her on a leash much because we have a fenced in backyard but she has done well on a leash when we've had to walk her or bring her in public. Great in the car too!

Addy does great with my two dogs. One of mine is older and doesn't really like to play and she's really good and reading her cues and respecting her space when needed. She loves to play with both of my dogs outside and has never shown any aggression or possession. She is a submissive dog in nature and used to be an outside dog in the south with another dog.

We have two cats that Addy has done well with. One doesn't really like to play and again she does well respecting boundaries and the other is a young cat (around 6 months) and they like to run around and play together in the house. She isn't rough with playing but sometimes doesn't understand when he's done playing once they start. Overall no problems with her and my cats!

Addy gets kenneled when I am not home just because she isn't fully potty trained yet. She also sleeps in her kennel at night. I typically put her in there with some treats and a toy. She doesn't go potty in her kennel and doesn't rip up any bedding in it. She does sometimes bark or whine if she isn't tired for the first couple of minutes but eventually settles down.

Addy was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in January but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, she is currently being given a round of antibiotics.

Addy knows how to sit on command! We are working with her on general training and she would do well in a home committed to furthering her training. She is a people pleaser and food/treat motivated as well.
