Sue (aka Cash) is very sweet boy and is 100% a lover, not a fighter. He has no sense of personal space and doesn't realize he's grown too big to be a lap dog anymore. But that doesn't stop him from trying to climb into your lap! When not loving on you, he spends his time rough housing with other dogs, chewing on something, sleeping, or just being outside.
According to a DNA test, Sue is 52.4% Great Pyrenees, 25.5% American Pit Bull, and 22.1% Australian Shepard. With this mix of breeds, he should be on the larger side (~75lbs) fully grown and is already ~40lbs at 6 months! This set of breeds makes him smart, loyal, protecting, sensitive, and strong (all traits he already shows). He is a great companion and always wants to be near you. He lives for the outdoors and would love someone to take him on many adventures! When outside, he loves to roam around and get into a little trouble now-and-then, and can be difficult to retain as he tends to think ignoring you and staying outside longer is worth whatever trouble he be in. Which is pretty typical puppy behavior and should get better as he matures and with proper training. As a puppy, he is still working on his manners and basic training, but is a smart boy who would do great with any training thrown at him.
He is very, very food motivated, which should make training easier. He is a vacuum when it comes to food, but a slow feeder bowl helps a lot with this. Once he is finished he turns into a vulture and will wait a couple feet away from any other dogs feeding in case something were to drop or in case they don't finish all of their food. Despite as much as he eats, he stays really lean and is building out some muscle.
Sue has some experience on a farm and is reported to be good with cats and chickens, and when not exploring the farm he would be guarding the chickens (since they made it clear they do not want to play with him). Because he is mostly guard dog, he has a VERY loud warning bark. With that combined with his size and energy levels, I would not recommend him as an apartment dog. He is typically medium energy as long as he has other dogs to play with. When there are no other dogs, he is more high energy which demands more attention from you. Would highly recommend a home with another playmate.
He tends to get a burst of energy right before bedtime, which is resolved with a good round of rough housing with his foster brothers. After that, he sleeps through the night with no issue. He's not entirely crate trained as there never was a reason to crate him (he's a good boy). Has no experience with kids, but I am positive he would do great as long as the kids were respectful of him.
Due to Sue's age, he has not been neutered yet. He will be adopted out with an addendum to the adoption agreement to be altered at an appropriate age.
