Zilla is an alert, happy little dog, enjoying life and her first Autumn in the world. She came here from Louisiana escaping fires that were threatening shelters and will soon experience snow for the first time.
Zilla is still a puppy - in a few days she will be four months old - but she’s growing up fast. She is a healthy 21 pounds at last weighing and is fully potty trained. She is happy in her crate - though she’s even happier snuggling with me - and sleeps through the night. I would love to see her in a family with a doggie playmate, or perhaps a child that is old enough to respect her doggie boundaries. She would be happy in an apartment with regular visits to a dog park, or a back yard she could zoom around in. I thought she would be lonely once her foster brother got adopted, but I see no sign of it. I think Zilla would be fine being an only dog with just one person, if she had regular playtime with other dogs.
Zilla seems to love everything and everybody she meets - kids, adults, and other dogs. She saw a cat for the first time today - an outdoor cat that belongs to a neighbor - and she did not react at all like she would with a squirrel. She was curious and alert, but didn’t try to go after it. Good Zilla!
