Hi there, my name is Zyra! I've been settling into my foster home and making great progress. Here’s a little about me:
Crate Training: I excel in crate training! I happily go into my crate with a Kong, bone, or treats. I'm quiet and content inside, even when my foster parent is around the house. I sleep through the night without a peep.
Potty Training: I'm doing really well with potty training. No accidents since the first day—I'm a pro! I go out after waking up, every hour or two, and after meals. I enjoy my walks on a leash or in the backyard, always happy to receive treats or pets afterward.
Leash Skills: I'm good on leash in the yard, but walking down the street is overwhelming with all the city noises. Loud trucks and unfamiliar sounds make me anxious—I pull hard to go back home. My foster parent plans to help me adjust by sitting calmly on the porch to get used to neighborhood sounds.
Personality: I'm a snuggler and love being around people. Treats are my motivation, and I enjoy lounging next to my foster parent while they work. My breed says beagle but I do not have a beagle bark! I’m not a big barker. I settle down when told to.
Socialization: I get along great with other dogs and play respectfully. I am respectful of the older dog who doesn’t want to play. We coexist fine, sharing toys and walking together. I like to lounge and snooze too.
Family Fit: I think I'd be a great companion for someone who works from home or has a hybrid job. I'm smart and learning commands like sit, down, and off quickly. I have typical puppy moments—jumping and being mouthy when excited—but I'm improving every day. I can wait in my crate for 4-5 hours.
Cats: I haven't interacted with cats yet.
Kids I met an 8 year old boy and loved him. I put my mouth in check and worked on my jumping up. I might not be best suited for toddlers right now but if I was taught and monitored, I love children! When they get busy, I might get too excited but I’ll grow up.
Training Progress: I'm smart and catching onto training fast. I was in a couple sitter homes waiting for a foster and I adjusted easily to each one! I am very treat and voice motivated.
Overall, I'm a smart, cuddly, and adorable pup who's settling into a routine and becoming more comfortable each day. If you're looking for a loving companion who enjoys snuggles and is eager to learn, I could be your perfect match!
