Winston is usually up around 6:30 am and has bursts of energy followed by lots of naps. He would prefer to sleep in your lap or on a fuzzy blanket but is doing well with crate training as well. He sleeps in his crate at night and sometimes wakes up to go potty but has slept through the night a few times. He is doing great with potty training. We take him out whenever he wakes up or eats and hourly during the day and he always does his business.
He is a little shy with new people but warms up fairly quickly. Winston was with a sitter last weekend and settled in immediately with her and her resident dog. Winston has not had any interactions with children.
He is getting used to walking on the leash but spends most of the time chasing his foster sister, so I'm not sure how he would do on a solo walk.
We took him out with our neighbor's puppy, a 1+ yr old cockapoo and she was too energetic for him, but he plays with our 7 yr old, 70 lb lab mix like a champ (on her terms).
He did spend the night at the sitter with cats in the house and reportedly they were more curious about him than he about them.
Winston has only been left alone in his crate, both when we have to work or leave the house. He cries a little, but then goes to sleep.
He is super cute and sweet but does have his naughty puppy moments. Winston is definitely a fast learner and reads other dog's cues so will fit in a family with other dogs or cats.
Winston’s mom had a DNA analysis showing 50% bull terrier, 25.1% chow chow, 8.1% American foxhound, 6.0% German shepherd, 10.8% supermutt. We do not know the breed of Winston’s dad. Check out the last photo above for a photo of Mama Seairah!
