Updates

Tucker’s vet paperwork says he’s six months old, but we think he’s older, as he already has his adult teeth. This little gentlemen always has his white gloves on.

As a chi mix, Tucker can be a little sassy and vocal during play with other dogs. All the dogs in our house have been tolerant of his sassy side, but some dogs might not be, so this is just something to be aware of if Tucker is adopted into a multi-dog home. Chihuahuas also tend to be a little slower to warm up to new people and this is also a trait Tucker has demonstrated. However, if given a day or two (and a few treats), Tucker will be your best friend.

Tucker enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home, running around the yard and going for walks. Tucker is a medium energy pup and likes activity, but also enjoys snuggling up on the couch.

Tucker has been doing very well on potty training and so far, hasn’t chewed on things he shouldn’t when out of his crate. However, we crate Tucker at night and when we leave the house. Over time, an adopter might see how he does uncrated and choose to no longer crate him. Tucker is fine in his crate, but just gets a little barky when the house first becomes active, or when we first get home and he wants to be let out.

Tucker is a good leash walker and knows some basic commands, but as a young pup, he would benefit from a basic obedience class.

Tucker was positive for Anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, in March but is not showing any clinical signs. A positive result for Anaplasmosis just indicates antibodies to this bacteria, not necessarily active infection. Per our rescue protocol, he is currently being given a round of antibiotics.

Come meet this sweet gentleman today!
