Tramp

Terrier/Schnauzer Mix | 3.5 months old | MALe | 13 lbs

QUICK FACTS: 🐕Dog friendly 🐱Cat friendly 👶Kid friendly 🐶Typical puppy! 🧸Loves to play 🥰Snuggle Pup 😀Friendly

If you can't tell just by looking at his bright little eyes, Tramp is a total sparkplug who loves his humans, chewing on his favorite toys (or any stray shoe he manages to snag), and exploring outside. His favorite spot is curled up in a lap chewing on a toy, or playing fetch, chase, and training games with his foster moms.

Tramp's typical day starts around 7 a.m., when he lets us know he's ready to get out of his crate and go potty. He's great about going right away in the yard, and once he's gone he sniffs around a little until we go back inside for playtime. Since he's still a puppy and needs lots of rest, the remainder of the day typically looks like cycles of 1.5-2 hours of playing (some independent play/chewing, some training games, and some interactive play with foster moms like fetch or chase or tug of war), and then 1.5- 2 hours of sleep until he goes to bed in his crate for the night between 10:30/11 p.m. He can typically sleep the whole night through in his crate quietly. Tramp is still potty training (making good progress!) so he gets let out to potty before and after every nap time to be sure he has a chance to go. He's started telling us he needs to go by looking at us and whining or running to the door, but sometimes we just have to look for the signs he needs to go or keep an eye on the clock since the last time he went out.

Tramp is still a bit hesitant about his crate so usually gets led in by a treat of some sort (we've had luck with dehydrated beef liver or little bits of cheese). He's not the most food motivated so kibble doesn't usually do the trick. For meals, Tramp is a grazer and doesn't eat or drink too much at one time. He'll take a few bites whenever he passes his food bowl and usually eats around 1-1.5 cups of food per day.

Tramp is very smart and needs a lot of mental and physical stimulation. His spunk and big personality are the best thing about him, and make him such a fun and loveable dog! He's excelled at the training games we've tried so far, and likes to play "find the treat" or other sniffing games. He also loves fetch, and it's a great way to burn off that puppy energy. If left unattended, he will definitely chew (as all puppies do) - shoes are his favorite!

Tramp hasn't met other dogs, cats, or children yet. He has, however, met lots of humans and is always quick to give kisses and sniffs. He can occasionally be a bit hesitant at first but warms up quickly - any potential new playmate is a friend of Tramp's!

Tramp is a loving and super fun little dog for someone looking for an adventure partner and sidekick in life, and he would do really well in an active home where someone is around during the day to play with him, train him, and keep him stimulated mentally and physically. His personality and adorable little face will win you over right away!

Tramp will be adopted out with an addendum to his contract to be neutered at an appropriate age.
