✅ Sweet: Loves to be petted.
✅ Crate trained, working on leash training. So far we have had no accidents in either crate or house.
✅ She plays hard, loves other dogs.
✅ She is interested in the cat but no aggression.
✅ She has not been around younger children, supervision suggested at first.
✅ Piper was dumped along with a younger puppy on a rural road in Wood County.  There are no animal services in that county other than the deputies hold strays in open kennels outside. The jail trustees care for the dogs and love on them.  The dogs and pups are socialized quickly. Piper has benefited greatly from their care.

Piper is an absolute gem. She is sweet, gentle, calm, and polite. She is crate trained and potty trained and can generally go 6-8 hours between going outside. When we had her in her crate overnight, she would want to go to the bathroom around 4am and would then whine a bit until we got up. We began letting her sleep outside of her crate, and this resolved the issue. She sleeps on the couch in our living room, and will generally come check on us around 6-8am for some snuggles. She is extremely attentive to humans and body language, and waits for an invitation to come up on furniture. We have a cat, and PIper has been very sweet with her. While she has gotten excitable a few times thinking they were friends, she has shown no prey drive towards the cat and was very responsive when the cat communicated that they were not friends. The best of both worlds, she is down to play and run whenever you are but is also pretty content chilling on the couch. If she gets bored, she's very good about entertaining herself with her toys. She does have a tendency to dismember her stuffed toys and incidentally swallow some stuffing, so we've steered her more towards other toys. She loves her tennis ball and will throw it around for herself. During the weekdays, she appreciates a walk in the morning before work and after we get home. We have been crating her while at work and have had no issues. We did test a few times leaving her outside her crate with us out of the house for 30-60 minutes and did not have any issues. She is extremely food-motivated and very smart and easy to train. She eats very fast, and so we put her food in toys that make her work to get it out. Besides her adorable eyebrows, she also has a tendency to let her tongue hang out of her mouth which is adorable. We introduced her to other dogs, and she has done very well with them. She likes to play and is very quick to be submissive if things get too rough. She is still working on not jumping and so was a bit too much for our friends' kids, but I don't doubt that she would be great with kids once she's settled in. For training, she knows sit, wait, come, and touch. We are working on heel, shake, and down. She sits very politely to get her leash on and off when she comes in and out of the house. We have a fenced in backyard, and she is very happy and content to be outside by herself. She does have a very strong prey drive towards squirrels, birds, and rabbits. Whoever adopts her is going to be so lucky to have such a wonderful, special dog!
