Updates

Todd found his family March 8, 2021!

Todd patiently waits in his crate for his foster mom to wake up every morning! Todd goes for a walk first thing, and then eats breakfast. Todd spends most of the day either napping or independently playing with his toys. He goes for another walk after having dinner around 5:30 pm. Todd is an excellent snuggler and happily curls up on the couch with his humans in the evenings! Todd is doing great with potty training, but as he is still a puppy, he is given plenty of potty breaks throughout the day. He does best when he's let out every 3 hours or so.

Todd has loved every person he has met! He is eager to approach strangers and ask for sniffs and pets when we are out for walks. Todd did bark once or twice, when a new face came into the apartment, but he quickly warmed up after a few sniffs!

He has not met any children while in foster care. Todd is a big puppy, who is still learning not to jump on people when he's excited. Since he's not quite aware of his own strength and size; he would likely knock small children over. Todd may not be the best fit for families with little ones.

Todd has been doing well with two 20-minute walks a day. Todd does a little bit of the puppy zig zag when out for walks. But he generally does really well on a leash! Todd tends to walk at the same pace with his human, and only seems to pull when he gets excited in the snow or sees another dog he wants to greet.

He is currently the only dog in his foster home. But he lives in a building with lots of other dogs, so Todd meets new dogs regularly. Todd has done great with all the dogs he has met! He loves to sniff and is eager to play with new friends.  Todd has not interacted with cats while in foster care.

Todd has only been left alone for short periods of time (up to 30 minutes). Todd does whine intermittently when he is left alone in his crate. As he doesn't show any others signs of separation anxiety and sleeps well in his crate at night, I think Todd will get used to being left alone with some consistency and trust building in his forever home!

Todd is the sweetest and most lovable pup! He can be a little bit timid when in unfamiliar situations, but quickly warms up with some encouragement from trusted humans. Todd is a special guy, who is a great companion (and quarantine buddy), whether you want to go on an adventure or just hang on the couch!
