Updates

Thor found his forever dad on June 30, 2021!

Thor gets up between 6:30-7:30 am and goes out immediately to go potty. He has breakfast when he gets back, and he alternates playing with toys, napping, and going out to go potty every two hours, while his humans work from home. He eats ~ one cup of food with each meal, and eats around 8am, 12pm, and 5pm. He has some structured alone time from ~6-7pm in his crate without anyone in the apartment to work on reducing his separation anxiety. Thor goes out again before bed around 11/11:30 pm and sleeps quietly in his crate in the same room as his humans for a few hours, before waking his humans up to go potty between 2-3am. Once back inside, he settles back down to keep sleeping.

Thor loves meeting people. He loves getting pets on the street while walking, and similarly does well with new people in the home.  He has met several young kids (5-8 years old) while walking outside, and was excited to see them, but was relatively gentle for a puppy. He hasn't met and younger children.

He has puppy energy! He gets 15-minute burst of energy, then crashes for a 2-hour nap. He will be a bigger dog, so his energy levels will likely decrease.

Thor is relatively submissive at first to other dogs. When he sees them out for a walk, Thor will sit or lay down, and wait for the other dog to approach. Once they does, he's happy to sniff, say hi, and eventually play. He plays relatively rough with other dogs once he's gotten to know them. He has no exposure to cats.

He has separation anxiety when left alone. Thor doesn't like not being by his people in the crate, and will whine/bark/howl if he thinks you've put him in his crate, and are leaving the apartment. He quiets down usually after ~15 minutes but will need some work here to become more confident in his forever home.

Thor's a great puppy, and with some consistency and training, will make a great dog!
