Sugar found her family on 11/9/2022!

Updates

We wake up at 6:30 am and Sugar goes into her crate to eat her breakfast while I get ready for work. We then do a quick walk to get her potty out. When I leave for work I alternate between days where she’s crated and days where she is left to free roam and she does well with both! I let her out at lunch most days - but there have been days she was home a full 8 hours and she had no accidents. She goes potty around 9pm and then sleeps in my room with myself and the resident dog.

She is a little dog but has a lot of energy! Sugar had a litter of puppies in May who have all found their families through Fetch, then tested positive for and was treated for heartworm. Sugar has been on activity restrictions due to treatment, but as of November 1st can return to normal activities and burn off the energy (and the extra weight) she gained these past several months. Sugar also is in need of a dental to extract a few broken teeth. Due to heartworm treatment, she's unable to go under anesthesia for this procedure until March; this appointment will be scheduled with our vets in Madison and covered by Fetch. We will work with Sugar's adopters to coordinate this appointment.

Sugar loves all people, all she wants is love. If the person is able to give her belly scratches she will love them! Sugar has met children ages 3 months to 2 years and she did well with all of them! She may jump up and ask for pets, but she is very sweet about it and won’t knock a child over.

Sugar is able to keep up on a 3+ mile hike or go an entire week without a walk! She is very versatile! She will get the zoomies when she wakes up in the morning and right before bed but besides that she is very calm inside the home!

Sugar is very submissive and will roll into her back when meeting any new dog. Once they have ample time to sniff her she will carry on with walking around. Once comfortable with a dog she will initiate what I call “lazy play” which is where she lays down and likes to just mouth and paw at the other dog. She spent an entire weekend in a house with 6 other dogs varying from a dominant old lady to a very energetic lab puppy and she did well with every single one!

Sugar has met 3 cats and she didn’t seem to acknowledge their existence! Totally ignored them.

Sugar has been the best dog that I have had in my home. She is fully potty trained, I have never heard her bark and she does well on/off leash. She will be an amazing addition to any home and is definitely beginner friendly!
