Sarah found a home of her own on January 25, 2021!

Hello! My name is Sarah, but everyone likes to call me other things too like Beara or Sarah Beara or Sarah Beara Boo. I am a German shepherd mix who is about 2 ½ and looking for a forever home.

I came from Texas with 8 puppies. I was a fantastic mom! I didn’t have the easiest start to life, and when I first arrived in Wisconsin I was in a lot of pain. I had really bad hips that needed to be fixed. At first we thought I'd need to have surgery on both hips but after we fixed the first one, the lameness I had on the other side went away. I may eventually need the other side done but for now, I recovered well and loved running super fast while I waited to start my heartworm treatment. I have been with my foster family for about 8 months while I recovered from surgery to fix my bum hip, got my teeth done and said "see ya" to these heartworms.

I am a super affectionate girl! I love to lay my head on your lap and give you all the kisses in the world. I will do anything to eat food, and have your full attention. I am super good with teenagers and adults but I haven't met young kids. I love to get belly rubs and to be brushed and you should know that I have top notch cuddling skills.

I shouldn't live with cats, because I try to eat the ones that live with me right now. Just too tempting. I have been 98% good with the other dogs in my foster home but have snapped at them if they get too close to my food or other high value treats/toys. I was a stray before coming to Wisconsin so I'm used to having to protect my treasures. It doesn't happen often but should be something you would want to watch closely.

Overall, I have been a low key gal that loves a good nap. I do have some spunk to get up and play, but have done fine with all of the activity restrictions from my surgery and heartworm treatment. I am really looking forward to going on walks and running around when I am finally able to. Right now I'm more of a low energy girl but I may get a bump to that energy level once done with restrictions. Since I was a stray before I came and then went right into hip surgery and then heartworm treatment (both had activity restrictions) I haven't had a chance to fine tune my leash walking so my new family will need to be willing to help me learn how to walk nicely on leash.

My family has been able to work and do school from home now so I am rarely left home alone. I am very happy to find a comfy place to lounge while they get their work done. When they have gone out, they let me roam free and I have been well behaved. I don't love my crate yet so if you want a crate trained doggo, we may have to work on that a bit. I prefer to lounge on the cough when my people are gone. Also, I do bark at anyone that comes into the house, but will stop once I realize who it is.

I would love to find my forever family, who will take care of me and love me for a lifetime. I really love my humans so someone who has a lot of time to spend with me would be great! I am a happy pup and it doesn't take much to impress me. I will always be by your side, and making you smile.
