Sandy is now 6 months old as of May 1. She is a spayed, ~27 lb, female Plott hound/lab-mix with shiny black/chocolate brown short hair. She should top out at 40 lbs. She is an intelligent, exuberant puppy who loves all people, dogs and even cats! She really really would love a forever home with a dog playmate who will spend time with her! She is very sweet with kids and your family would be lucky to have little Sandy with a big heart in your family!
Character traits: Sandy is soft mouthed and benefits from having chew toys on hand to keep her busy. She loves her squeaky toys and would be thrilled to have a home with her own toybox full of squeaky toys! She likes to take them out one at a time to play with and is good about occupying herself. Sandy is not a barker--she only barks when her favorite toy gets stuck under furniture and is frustrated or there is a person walking near her back yard! She is crate trained and understands it's her place to rest a bit and she curls up with a toy or two and rests. She absolutely LOVES to snuggle in bed at night with her foster mom, from time to time, curling up near her feet under the covers, like a cat!
History: Sandy came from Louisiana, found by rescuers at night in the middle of the woods with her mama and four siblings. She has been in foster care since she was about 8 weeks old. At six months of age now, Sandy desperately needs her forever family so she can settle in and continue to grow up confidently and happily!!
Additional information: Sandy has attended puppy class and knows these commands: sit, down, come, working on "stay", no, wait. She is very food motivated and would do anything for a small piece of kibble. She enjoys jumping over small fences for agility training--she is so trainable you will have fun with this little girl!
New favorite toy: Sandy is occupied for a half hour or more with her ball-feeder toy that dispenses small pieces of food as she rolls it.
Sandy is a loving, healthy, medium-sized, trainable puppy--please consider adopting her!
