Updates

Rudy is a dapper older gentleman who spent much of his life thus far as an outside doggo. Now that he's been in foster care, he's learning to adjust to the comforts of indoor life and quickly acclimating. His new favorite napping spot is on his foster's couch. Since he is used to roaming as he pleases outdoors, he does need to be in a fenced yard or on a leash or he will wander off.

Rudy is a medium-energy guy who gets along well with people, dogs, and cats. His current day usually consists of two walks, some play time, and lots of naps. He is working on kennel-training and may do some classic Husky Hollers for the first 10 minutes he's in his crate, but he settles quickly and is fine being crated for up to 4 hours. He could probably free-roam in a tidy home.

When Rudy has met children, he sniffs them politely and then mostly ignores them. He'd probably do best around older children who can give him space when he needs it. Once he gets to know a human, he loves to give kisses and receive affection. Rudy is a great dog for someone who appreciates both couch-time and adventures, and who is comfortable with a dog who likes to "talk" a bit.

After arriving to foster care, Rudy did test positive for Lyme disease. He is finishing up a course of oral antibiotics. He also has some joint stiffness at present, though it doesn't slow him down much. Once he completes his current course of treatment, we'll have a better idea if his joint stiffness was Lyme-related, or is more likely to be arthritis which would be managed long-term with a daily joint supplement.
