Angie found her forever family 5/22/2023!

Updates

Angie spent her first 7 years on a farm as a breeding dog but has adapted to the good life as an indoor dog very quickly. She has done great with house training and will let you know if she needs to go out to potty. Angie has not quite figured out toys yet and doesn't play with toys inside or outside. She spends her day around dogs and has decided she is interested in her dog companions but hasn't figured out what playing looks like either. Angie sleeps in her crate at night and is eager to get up and see her humans in the morning. Angie would prefer to sleep in her human's bed and loves to cuddle.

Overall Angie is a couch potato and prefers to snooze on the couch as close to her humans as possible. Angie enjoys going on walks and hikes but doesn't require much exercise. She will go out into the yard with her dog friends and may occasionally run in the yard with the other dogs, but mostly prefers to find a shady spot and take a nap.

While we are not at home, Angie does spend time in her crate but is not naughty if left out. Once Angie realized how much she loved her foster humans she developed some separation anxiety and would cry and bark in her crate for a bit when we left. Her fosters discovered if she was left with a peanut butter kong or a treat that she would focus on that treat and then be ready to take a nap and not vocalize in her crate. Angie has just had so many big changes recently and needs some reassurance that you will be coming back after you leave.

Angie currently lives with 2 other dogs and 2 cats and does well with all of them. She doesn't mind sharing your love and attention with other animals and happily snoozes on the couch with the cats and dogs. When Angie first got to her foster home she was timid of new humans, but now that she is settled in she is much more curious about new visitors in the house and is open to making friends with any human that will give her pets.

Angie happily eats her food quickly and enjoys all food and treats. Angie is currently ~55 pounds, but is on a diet and doesn't mind too much. Angie’s ideal weight would be around ~45 pounds and she has been doing well with structured feeding and a little exercise.

Angie is an Australian Shepherd with a long coat that will require some maintenance. She loves being brushed and would need to be brushed 1-2x per week and would do best with a full groom at least 1-2x per year to make sure she doesn't get matted.

Angie is a super laid-back dog looking to share the best years of her life with her forever humans. She loves all her humans and is looking for a house where she will get so many snuggles. When you stop petting her she will give you a very polite tap with her paw to remind you that you must keep petting her.
