Roy is a sweet, snuggly, and energetic boy. He is a typical puppy with lots of energy and love to give. His absolute favorite thing to do is go for walks and meet new dog friends outside. He’s very friendly and playful - usually keeping himself occupied with a ball or a bone while inside. You’ll commonly find Roy playing with two toys at once, so we call him Two Toy Roy :)
Outside, Roy is good on a leash and likes to carry a stick - he may try to eat mulch or small sticks so needs to be monitored. He is well-behaved in the car, even in the backseat alone or on long drives. He sleeps peacefully in his crate all night. He is potty trained and accidents inside are rare. He’s also good in the bath and at meal time. Sometimes he’ll overeat or want to play right after, which can cause him to vomit up his food. It helps to space out his servings.
Roy has had a tough go of it medically. He survived parvo and made a full recovery. Following his neuter he had some sort of medical episode that may have been a seizure and resulted in some hind end lameness that has fully 6resolved over the last few months. He did have some really elevated blood levels following that episode, though we weren't able to pinpoint the exact cause, it appears to have been some sort of long lasting infection that is clearing up without medication. He hasn't shown any other seizure like episodes since the initial one back in early February and regular blood checks have shown everything trending in the right direction.
Roy is an amazing companion who we love very much. Any family, especially one with dogs, would be lucky to have him.
