Eloise found her people May 30, 2021!

Eloise is content to sleep in until we get up around 6-7 am. She goes outside to potty, then breakfast. Most mornings, she gets a walk after breakfast, and again mid-to late afternoon. Dinner around 5:30 pm, another short walk or potty before bed around 9 pm. She sleeps all night without waking.

Eloise loves all humans. She prances right up to anyone, adults or kids, with a tail wag and greeting to be pet. No stranger danger. She has not had a lot of interaction with children, just those around the neighborhood, but she does very well and is very gentle.

She’s great on leash, has a prance in her step and loves walks and sniffing along the way. She has a hankering to graze on grass. Low to medium energy otherwise. Not one to play fetch with a ball but likes a squeaker stuffed toy and loves to chew on bully sticks or marrow bones.

Inside our home, she gets along great with our foster dog (Lab/Retriever/Schnauzer mix, 55 pounds). Will sometimes low-growl when meeting other dogs or make a yip sound—she is timid when meeting other dogs for the first time or if other dogs are getting the attention. Eloise does not live with cats.

She does well when left alone but is with our resident dog. Occasionally she rips a newspaper left on the floor but not often. She can free roam. There were a few accidents during the first week so initially she will need to be watched closely and taken out often. She is doing well now with potty outside.

Eloise is a heartworm survivor and finishes her crate rest May 25. She’s being treated with a round of antibiotics for anaplasma but does not show any active signs of infection.

Eloise is a loving, cuddly little pup whose name could easily be “Dotty” for the many circle dots on her tummy and back. She prances and struts proudly when she walks, one of her favorite activities.
