PUPDATE 3

Hello All,

Roxie checking in, hope everyone had a good Holiday. I know I had a blast. My Foster parents were home so we got to play a lot! I've been doing more leash training when it is not terrible outside. I've even graduated to neighborhood walks, though I do still get a little nervous when other people are around. By nervous, I mean I stand in more of an attention posture and put my hawk up. My Foster dad catches on to this really quickly and helps redirect my attention and reassures me that it is all good. The prong collar has been the real MVP of my walk training! The newest lesson we are learning is stop/sit. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm actually really smart and will pick up on this quickly.

Daily life continues to be great with my foster family. My day usually consists of a few phases. One of my Foster dads gets up at 4am. We all agree that is gross, so we stay put until about 6:30am. By this time I am usually ready to get up, but I try my hardest to stay quiet and patient in my crate. Once I am out and about, I eat breakfast and go outside for a while. About 7:30, The other Foster dad has to go to the office for a bit, so I go in my crate. I don't ever mind because I get treats and honestly, I like my crate :). I spend anywhere from 5-8 hours in my crate during the day with no issues. It does help me to have a toy that is good for chewing though. Once I am out and about again, we do any number of things, from chilling on the couch, leash training, playing in the yard and sometimes we even go in the car for rides. Dinner is served between 4:30 and 5 every day. I was recently able to investigate the food package and the house serves Taste of the Wild, Southwest Canyon. It is heck'n good. After dinner we usually go back outside for a little bit, then just go into chill mode for the night. I usually get comfy on the couch with a nice chew toy. I sleep on the couch until about 10pm, as soon as they turn the tv off, I go to my crate to be tucked in for the night.

Thanks for reading up on me. I hope everyone has a pawtastic New Year.

PUPDATE 2

Roxie here again, just wanted to send this selfie of me working on those leash manners we touched on before. I’ve started working with a prong collar for leash walks. It’s going pretty great so far. I’ll send in another pupdate later this week.

PUPDATE 1

Hello,

I’m Roxie. Don't be fooled by these silly photos, I'm not really this lazy, quarantine is just rough. To be honest, I'm just getting over a little heartworm treatment, really no big deal, but I did have to be lazy for a couple months. That's all old news now though. Now I love to play with my foster sister, have zoomies, wrestle, play tug and fetch (well, almost, I'm never crazy about handing the ball back over). When I'm not out running laps around the yard, I love to just chill on the couch, sometimes the floor and if I'm lucky I get to snuggle on a lap. So for the most part the feedback I get from my foster fam is really good. However, there may have been a time or two where they seemed to not be so happy with a couple of tinsie little things. Like that sandal I chewed up or the holes I may or may not have added to the yard. I mean, they should have been more clear about the rules. I have not meet and kids or cats. Also with the prescribed laziness, my leash manners have gotten a little shaky, though I am sure with a little work, I will be back to happy walks soon. Even with these little hick-ups we all agree I am ready to move on to my furever home.

Cheers,

Roxie
