Meet Rocky! He is the sweetest and silliest cuddle bug of all time. He always wants to be where the action is, whether it’s snuggling with us on the couch or seeing what toys our resident dog is playing with. If he can’t physically be part of the fun, he’ll patiently watch from afar without crying or barking. Truly the bestest boy!
He loves to give kisses, sniff out squirrels on walks, play with toys, and take long naps in the sun. He gets along great with our resident dog, who is about 5x his size! He also cries to play with just about every dog we pass on our walks. He is understandably wary of bigger dogs at first, but once given time to sniff them out and ensure there’s no threat, he’s ready to go.
Although he was a bit skeptical of the crate at first, he’ll happily nap in there while we’re out of the house and sleeps peacefully through the night. He is very food/treat motivated, so can easily be coaxed in the crate that way. He is mostly potty trained, especially now that he’s on a regular potty schedule. He was using a doggy door at his previous foster home, so he’s adjusting to having to wait to go out. He’s been doing very well and we don’t suspect it’ll be an issue once he’s comfortable in his new home!
His current routine is a morning walk with our resident dog, breakfast, and then free roaming while my husband works from home. When he has to go to the office (usually for about 4 hours), Rocky also does very well crated. We haven’t needed to crate him longer than that. Him and my resident dog switch napping spots throughout the day, and occasionally get up to see who’s walking by. When I get home, it’s walk and dinner time again! We typically have some formal play time around 8pm (toys and finding treats hidden in the living room), and then a final potty around 9/9:30 (usually followed by hallway zoomies on our way inside!).
