Congrats to Robin on finding his furever home on August 15, 2020!
Robin is ready to find his Batman (or family of Batman's) for a lifetime of adventures. Robin is a low key, snuggly guy and will be a great addition to any home. He is almost 4 months old and at already 25 lbs, he is going to be a big, stocky guy when full grown. Good thing he is such a good boy!
Robin has met lots of people. He is mostly interested and usually will approach readily but will sometimes hesitate. He warms up quickly though and is such a lovey and affectionate guy. He hasn't met any kiddos yet but is interested when he has seen them on walks. He would be a good pup to take with you to pup friendly events or places such as breweries as he is pretty chill. He does pretty well in the car and is always up for an adventure.
Robin loves other pups. He seems to have gained a lot of confidence having other pups to learn from and has puppy pounces ready for any pup he meets. In his previous foster home, they noted some occasional resource guarding with food/toys with other dogs. We haven't seen any of this behavior at all with the dogs in our home but as he settles in, he may need some extra structure with other dogs as he learns what is appropriate. He has a kitty in his foster home and is very excited about the kitty. He likes to try and interact with the kitty but kitty sets pretty clear boundaries for him which he respects.
Robin is a medium energy pup. He kept up pretty well on a 1.5 mile hike but then he was out for the better part of the day. He loves to play with other pups and empty out the toy box as he plays with all of the toys. He enjoys being outside in the yard both sniffing around or relaxing in the shade. He does great on leash and is more apt to be pokey than to pull, but does keep moving with a little encouragement.
After potty, breakfast and playtime, Robin is crated while I work from home. He is crated in the same room as me and he has been fairly quiet in the crate with the exception of how loudly he both licks his kong and snores. He gets breaks throughout the day for potty or to lay near me on the dog bed. He will go potty in the crate if he isn't let out every four hours or so, though he has been doing better with this. He is still a pup so not yet ready to free roam though I believe he will get there when he learns what is ok/not ok to chew on. He is quiet through the night in the crate and can easily hold potty through the night.
We are still working on potty training but he does well as long as he is let out regularly. He does chew on things like shoes, corner of the rug, etc so he should be closely monitored and provided with lots of pup friendly toys to chew on. I would strongly recommend training obedience classes for him as he will be a pretty large dog when he is full grown so it will be important to have a good handle on his behavior before he gets to that point.
Robin loves his people so much and has a really strong snuggle game. His other favorites include popcorn, ice cubes, meal times, good scritchies and toys that squeak.
