QUICK FACTS: ✔️ Good with other dogs! ✔️ Crate trained! ✔️ Potty trained! ✔️ Good in the car!
Say hello to Remy, the delightful 1.5-year-old Whoodle with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines bright! Remy is a playful companion who adores spending time with his family, whether it’s playing fetch in the yard or accompanying you on a fun-filled walk or hike.
Personality Traits:
Playful: With an endless supply of energy, Remy loves games of chase and interactive playtime. He’s always up for a fun romp!
Loving: This sweet pup is a cuddle bug at heart, showering his family with affection and warmth. You will love the tail wags and exuberant cuddles he gives every time he sees you! He gets so excited he curves his body into a taco to greet the humans he loves.
Smart: Remy is quick on the uptake and enjoys learning new tricks, making him an eager student for any training session.
Fun (but Challenging) Traits:
Protective: Remy takes his role as a guardian seriously, often displaying protective behaviors toward children from outside the household. While this comes from a place of love, it’s something to be mindful of. We have two children in our home (ages 7 and 10), Remy is wonderful with them, loves playing with them and has never exhibited any concerning behavior with them. However, due to their ages and activities we have many other children coming and going frequently into our home. Remy gets over excited with the other children. He barks at them, lunges at them and tries to nip them. He must be kept separately or closely supervised when other children are in the home. Managing this behavior is not sustainable for our family long-term and poses a risk to him and us, so we have decided that rehoming him would be the best course of action to help all of us live the best life possible. He does not display this behavior towards adults or when interacting with children outside of the home on walks. He would thrive in an environment with teenage children or adults only.
Counter Surfer: With a knack for culinary heists, Remy loves to explore countertops for tasty treats. Keeping food out of reach is essential! We continue to train Remy on this behavior, he is very food motivated and has a strong sense of smell so ongoing monitoring would be needed.
Resource Guarding: When Remy gets hold of a prized item, he can be a little possessive, so managing access to tempting treasures is important.
Leash Pulling: Remy is very curious and loves exploring outdoors. He loves sniffing any new area he comes across. He does pull on the leash to try to explore things he is interested in. He can and will walk in a heel when directed but will likely forget when the next interesting thing comes his way. Continued positive reinforcement training on this would be needed.
Additional Qualities: Remy enjoys car rides and travels very well in his travel crate in the car. He loves training and eagerly learns new tricks. He is crate trained overnight. He has been fully potty trained with no accidents in over a year. He is great with other dogs and enjoys playing at doggy daycare. He has never been around any cats but would likely be too curious for their comfort.
Ideal Home:
Remy would thrive in an active household that can provide him with love, structure, and plenty of playtime. Remy would do great with an adult(s) with no children, or a family with teenage children that has previous dog experience. Owners that can provide exercise and enrichment along with a commitment to positive reinforcement would be perfect for him. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who’s ready to learn and explore with you, Remy is your guy!
Supplies: Remy is neutered and is up to date on all his vaccines. He would come to your home with his vaccine records and the supplies needed for his continued comfort including his indoor crate and dog bed, travel crate, toys, treats, chews, a 6-month supply of flea/tick/heartworm prevention medicine, leash and collar.
